"Take off your clothes, take two steps forward, let me see if your chest is real or fake." A cold voice came from above. Smith Squad looked at Ashley Brown with an arrogant look and deep eyes.
At this moment, Ashley was utterly shocked, biting her lower lip tightly, her face flush with embarrassment.
There were rumors in the outside world that Smith, the president of Squad’sCompany, was young and promising, eccentric, not interested in women, and possibly gay.
However, it didn't seem to be the case at the moment.
This man not only has an interest in women, he even seems to be a bit rampant, demanding her to disrobe in the office. This really is quite eccentric.
"President Squad , I think you might be mistaken. I came here to discuss work with you, about our company's investments..." Ashley, suppressing her slight anger, reminded Smith.
Smith hooked the corner of his mouth, his eyes looking at Ashley were full of amusement. "Miss Brown, it's you who got it wrong. Does your company need investment now? Because, your entire company is now mine."
Ashley stared at Smith dumbfounded, completely not understanding what he was saying, as if they were from two different worlds.
Smith pulled out a document from his desk, throwing it in front of Ashley.
"You don't believe it? Then look for yourself."
Ashley was somewhat bewildered as she flipped through the document - the acquisition contract where Squad’s Company acquired Brown's Company. Every word and punctuation on it was like a bug biting Ashley's heart.
On the last page, her father's name was prominently written on the signature section, Oliver!
Oliver was the name of Ashley's father.
Ashley felt as if she was dreaming. How could this be possible? Just this morning, her father had kept reminding her to win over Smith today, that was the only way to save their company.
A smile was in Smith's eyes as he looked at Ashley quietly, pinching his index finger.
The whole world seemed to have quieted down. The atmosphere had turned slightly eerie.
Smith was silent, yet his presence imposed a tremendous pressure on Ashley.
Ashley felt an inexplicable panic within her. She stepped back, looking at Smith, and forced herself to speak calmly, "Mr. Gu, I think there may be some misunderstanding between us. I should go and clear things up before I contact you again."
"Leave without explaining? Do you think anyone can come into my office?" Before his words had even fully left his mouth, Ashley found herself in a tight embrace.
As Ashley raised her head, she met Smith's amber-colored eyes and her heart pounded like a startled deer.
Smith stared at Ashley, his hand travelled from her slender waist upwards, resting on her soft chest, even giving a squeeze.
Ashley's face flushed immediately, with traces of panic in her eyes, "Let go of me."
Thinking of all the rumors she had heard about Smith in the business world, Ashley was filled with fear.
It was said that he was ruthless and decisive; anyone who crossed him would hardly remain whole.
It seemed that Smith saw through Ashley's thoughts, a mocking smile on his face, upon seeing Ashley's flustered expression, he let go of her before she even had a chance to react.
Ashley was filled with lingering fear as she gradually retreated, panting heavily.
"You don't have to be afraid; I was just teasing." Smith laughed, his gentle smile might mislead a unknowing person into thinking he was a gentleman.
"Mr. Squad, your joke wasn't funny at all."
Smith watched Ashley's retreating figure without blinking an eye, the smile on his face slowly turning cold.
It's really her.
He had thought they would never meet again, but surprisingly, their lives still intertwined.
Smith Squad clenched his fists slowly. This time, he absolutely wouldn't let her escape so easily.
Ashley Brown could not wait to go to the company to ask her father what the hell was going on.
In Oliver’ office, Elsa stopped her directly.
Elsa, dressed in luxury brands, looked like a matron, lacking the vitality she should have at her age.
She blocked Ashley haughtily, with a smirk on her face and a sense of arrogance: "How is it? Did you do a good job for the task father entrusted you with? Ha ha, did you serve President Squad comfortably?"
Elsa Brown laughed unabashedly, full of mockery in her laughter.
She had heard that the president of Squad Corporation was a weird and extremely ugly old man. Thinking of her father instructing Ashley to please that old man made Elsa joyful.
Ashley glared at her, grinding her teeth, "You'd better not provoke me. I have an important matter to discuss with father."
"Alright, alright, off you go then." Elsa did not continue to make trouble for Ashley, and gave her way.
Ashley walked with a poker face.
As she was passing by, Elsa smacked her buttocks and murmured tauntingly, "Now I know why my sister has such a good figure; this ass must be touched by a lot of men, ha ha."
Feeling a sense of disgust wash over her, Ashley pretended not to hear and completely ignored Elsa.
Elsa found it boring and walked off, swinging her hips.
Elsa Brown is the half-sister of Ashley Brown , who shared the same father but different mothers. The two had been at odds since they were children and had a particularly bad relationship.
At this moment, Ashley entered Oliver Brown office. Oliver Brown was somewhat taken aback to see her.
"Why are you back so early?" Oliver Brown blurted out, immediately sensing something was off and hurriedly shutting his mouth.
Ashley merely lifted her gaze, ignoring Oliver Brown remark and placed a file from her bag on his office desk. "I'd appreciate a thorough explanation of this document, Father."
Oliver frowned as he opened the file, his face instantly turning pale. The file was a contract for the acquisition of the Brown's Corporation by the Squad's. He hadn't expected Smith Squad to show her this confidential document and even let her bring it out so soon.
"Ashley , listen to your father..." Oliver Brown immediately plastered a smile on his face, his tone seemingly carrying a touch of flattery.
"Father, didn't you tell me to negotiate a deal with the Squad’s Corporation? Why did you secretly sell the company, yet had me go through the motions of negotiating?" Ashley rudely interrupted Oliver Brown, fearlessly looking at him as she asked.
Oliver gave an awkward laugh. "Ashley,I had no choice but to do this. We've been backed into a corner. We can't just hand the company over to the Squad’s Corporation. Think about it. If you were to marry Smith Squad , wouldn't this company still technically belong to us?"
Ashley looked in disbelief at the strangely familiar yet alien .
Thinking back to what Smith Squad said when he saw her this morning, Ashley Brown suddenly had an epiphany. It turned out, he merely saw her as a commodity. Hence, seeing her sincerely discussing cooperation must have been quite a sight to him.
"So, Father, are you going to sell me off for the sake of the company?"
The answer was almost certain, but Ashley Brown still wanted to hear it from him. Perhaps that could completely shatter her hope and bring her back to reality.
Oliver Brown chuckled, "Ashley, what are you talking about? Smith Squad is still the CEO of the Squad’s Corporation after all. You will definitely not be at a loss if you married him."
