"Give... Give my child back to me..."
Inside a remote villa in the suburbs.
June Wellington struggled in pain, clutching her stomach.
She had just given birth to twins and before she could catch her breath, her younger sister Mellisa Wellington ordered the nanny to take the children away immediately.
June struggled to sit up, reaching out trying to snatch her children back.
But she was too weak. She didn't even touch the children before she fell back onto the bed.
Mellisa sneered and retorted, "You, of all people, think you can afford to raise these children? Don't overestimate yourself!"
"If it weren't for you, how would I... How would I have ended up in such a state?"
June, her face as white as a sheet, stared at the woman in front of her who looked exactly like her.
They were a pair of twin sisters, but June grew up with their mother, while Mellisa was raised by their father.
Their biological father was a businessman who only cared about personal gain. He didn't believe in familial bonds and wanted to use June to benefit himself.
Her twin sister seemed caring and considerate towards her at first, but she was plotting to destroy her!
One day, she was on her way on her mother's errand when she received a text message from her sister.
"Sis, you mustn't come home. Dad is planning to auction you off to a septuagenarian CEO as a second wife. He's 'waiting to evaluate the goods'. It's getting late. I've booked a hotel for you. Go and hide out there for the night."
Given their father's selfish and greedy nature, he would stoop to such a level!
June had hardly any doubt about her sister's words, getting off the car and hurrying to the hotel she had booked.
However, to her surprise, the moment she stepped through the door, she was pulled into the arms of a strange man...
That night, she struggled bitterly and resisted, yet the man showed no sense of releasing her, vehemently claiming her as his own.
She could only dream of walking out of the wolf's den just to enter the tiger's mouth.
Beneath the naive and harmless facade of her twin sister lurked the cruelty that wished for her to perish.
She now regretted trusting the wrong person, but it was too late.
Mellisa, superiorly standing beside the bed, looked down at her, "It's your foolishness, don’t blame others!"
"All because I sincerely regarded you as my sister, I trusted you unconditionally!" screamed June with all her strength.
"Sister?" Mellisa responded with a contemptuous cold chuckle, "Mother left the Wellington family and chose you over me, leaving me behind in that horrible place! Where were you, as my elder sister, when I was suffering?"
As she spoke, the smirk broadened on her face.
"In this world, this face is only enough for me."
June, feeling uneasy, stared scrutinizingly at her, "What do you want to do?"
"You'll find out soon."
With these words, Mellisa poured the gasoline which she had prepared earlier, filling the room.
Taking the twins with her, she left the door, casually tossed a lit match and left the scene.
A tiny spark met gasoline, and in an instant, the fire grew larger. Thick smoke quickly enveloped the entire villa, with a raging inferno blazing inside.
Mellisa, cuddling the twin babies who were crying their hearts out, grinned even more triumphantly.
Ten months ago, she intended to find a random man to ruin June, not expecting that the infuriating woman would accidentally stumble into Hawkins's room!
That was Hawkins Lincolnshire!
A character who ruled the capital with a single hand and whom nobody dared to provoke!
If she could establish a relationship with him…
Understanding the ins and outs of the situation, Mellisa immediately decided that she would replace June, leading Hawkins to believe that she was the one who provided the remedy that night in the form of her body!
Anyway, she and June looked identical - even their biological father couldn't distinguish between the two.
As long as June disappeared from this world, this secret would never be uncovered by anyone.
Watching the fire inside the house grow more substantial, June's survival instinct enabled her to muster the strength to get up from the bed and desperately escape through the window.
Not far from the villa was a highway; June was struggling to move.
Suddenly, she felt a familiar pain in her lower abdomen again…
