“No! Please! Open the door!” Eryn screamed at the top of her lungs as her bloodied hands slammed against the tightly shut door. She could barely breathe as the fire had already encompassed the entire house and every breath she took made her feel like her lungs were being scorched.

“Please, I don’t want to die,” she whispered as despair filled her heart. She was already suffocating and choking on the smoke in the air and her consciousness was gradually fading away. She found it hard to believe that after living in confinement for so long, she was going to die such a futile death.

“No, I want to live, I want to live, I want to live!” she said repeatedly and shouted with all her strength just when her consciousness faded into nothingness. Her whole body was taken over by fear because she knew now that she couldn’t even call out for help, she was definitely guaranteed to die.

Until the moment she took her last breath, she wished she got another chance. If she got a second chance, she would live her life differently. She wouldn’t let herself die such a futile death, if she got a second chance, she wouldn't let herself be entangled with that psycho again!

“Eryn, wake up!” a familiar voice shouted bursting through the darkness and her eyes opened abruptly, scaring Ella who had been trying to wake her up in the last five minutes.

“Ack! You scared me!” Ella said as she instantly let her go. She wasn’t expecting her sister to open her eyes suddenly like she was possessed by a ghost.

“Ella?” Eryn called to her twin sister as she reached out to touch her face, as if she couldn’t believe the woman in front of her is her twin sister.

“You finally woke up,” Ella said but frowned in confusion when Eryn started touching her face.

“Are we in heaven?” Eryn asked her and the confused Ella smiled suddenly.

“Do you think I’m an angel? Am I that good looking?” Ella asked her still confused sister. When Eryn looked at her sister carefully she realised that something was off. Her sister looked like she was more than a decade younger than the last time she saw her. She also didn’t feel any pain even though she was just in a fire.

Eryn sat up abruptly startling Ella once more and looked around the room, realising that this was her bedroom when she was still living with her family, before she married that monster.

She picked up the phone on her bedside table and saw that she had really gone back in time, and that she had actually gone back fifteen years into the past. Although reality was in front of her eyes, she was finding it hard to believe what she was seeing. Looking at the date, it looked like it was just a few months before their eighteenth birthday.

“Is this a prank?” Eryn asked and Ella rolled her eyes.

“That nightmare must have done a number on you. You still haven’t come to your senses. I’m tired, I’m going back to sleep,” Ella said as she got off of Eryn’s bed and walked out of her room.

Once Ella closed the door behind her, Eryn scrambled out of her bed and rushed to the bathroom. She looked at her reflection in the mirror in disbelief but the disbelief she was feeling quickly turned into joy.

“Hahahaha!” she laughed happily as she looked at her youthful reflection that laughed back when she did and felt extremely happy. Not only did she not die, but she also went back in time. She didn’t think this was possible but at this point, it didn’t matter.

She was not going to make the same mistakes she made previously. She wasn’t going to let herself get entangled with Darren again. She already regretted it so much in her last life, but this time, she was going to make sure that she didn’t repeat the same tragedy.
