Inside the narrow room, two individuals were lying on the bed.
The girl, with her slender arm embracing the man's robust shoulders, confesses with a amorous sweetness in her voice, "I love you..."
The deep breathing of the man, as he kisses the girl's fair skin, carried an emotion in his coaxing voice that Isabella James had never heard before, "Sophia, I love you too!"
For a moment, heaven turned into hell.
Isabella James never suspected that the two most important people in her life would betray her in such a manner. Her trembling hands inadvertently brushed against a vase on the shelf by the door, emitting a sharp sound in the ambiguous environment.
The two passionately entwined on the bed halt their actions. Nathan Peterson looked back to see the suddenly appeared Isabella James, disbelief clouding his eyes. Instinctively, he pulls the quilt from the ground to cover the person beneath him.
Seeing Nathan Peterson's gaze on her, Sophia James, looking completely lost, calls out, "Sister..."
Isabella James slowly shifts her gaze towards Sophia James, her mind a total blank.
"Sister..." Sophia James pushes Nathan Peterson away, wraps herself in the quilt and walks quickly towards Isabella James, her choked voice laden with shame and guilt, "Let me explain."
"I..."
Before Sophia James could realize, she begins to sob out of fear that Isabella James will resent her. She extends her hand to Isabella James, only to be reflexively pushed away: "Don't touch me!"
With a thud, Isabella James pushes Sophia James to the ground. Her elbows scrape against the floor, shedding a patch of skin, the fresh blood quickly seeping out.
"Sis..." A stunned Sophia James takes a few seconds, crawls towards Isabella James, pleading as if oblivious to the pain, "Don't be like this, I'm scared."
Dressed in pants, Nathan Peterson quickly walks over, helps Sophia James up and carefully checks her elbow before turning to Isabella James, speaking in a serious tone, "Isabella, how could you do this to Sophia? She's your sister! I know we owe you an apology, but if you want to beat or scold anyone, aim at me. Sophia is innocent!"
Three years, all past beautiful memories shattered. At this moment, Isabella James feels as if it's the first time she truly saw Nathan Peterson.
The two familiar figures who had inscribed themselves into her soul were standing in front of her, both in love, which finally snapped Isabella James back to reality. She glanced at her sister who had always been her support, her eyes instantly filled with red bloodshot strains.
"Do you still remember she's my sister?" Isabella James raised her hand, utilizing all her strength to slap Nathan Peterson, her eyes red when she looked at him, "Even rabbits don't nibble grass near their holes! If you want to cheat, if you want to find a woman, anyone is fine! But why did it have to be her?!"
Isabella James pointed at Sophia James, her fair hand's back showed protruding veins, her fingers trembling, "Why did it have to be my blood sister?"
"One of you is my soon-to-be-married boyfriend, the other is the person I feel closest to in the world, by doing this, where does it put me?"
"Sis..." Sophia James, looking at Isabella James who was desperately holding her emotions back, pulled away from the arms of Nathan Peterson, took two steps towards Isabella James, but didn't dare to approach further. She broke into sobs, unable to form full sentences, "I'm sorry... I... It's my fault... I was the one who seduced your fiancé... I was shameless..."
"Sis... hit me, scold me! It's all my fault... Please don't ignore me... I apologize to you... I..." Upon turning her head and seeing the balcony, Isabella James gritted her teeth, deciding to take one last gamble, she quickly darted towards it, "If I disappear, all these problems will be gone!"
Nathan Peterson was alarmed, in his eyes, Sophia James appeared more like a moth flying into fire.
Isabella James's face, already devoid of blood, became even paler, her limbs cold and stiff. She stood there in a daze, watching Sophia James's frantic actions.
Just as Sophia James made the move to jump from the balcony, Nathan Peterson sprung forward, holding her waist tightly, pulling her back from what he believed was the brink of death.
The two secret lovers clung to each other on the edge of the balcony, crying as if it were the end of the world -- resembling a pair of mandarin ducks forced to part.
Isabella James watched them, a scoffing smile creeping onto the corners of her mouth.
She turned around and left this nauseating place quickly.
Sometime later, it started to rain outside, lightning tearing the dark night sky into two.
The torrential rain "pitter-pattered" on to Isabella James, causing pain all over her body.
Rain and tears washed over her eyes together. Isabella James stood under the rain curtain, unsure of where she should go.
All of a sudden, from far to near, a beam of white light appeared. Isabella James, slowed in her reaction, wanted to avoid it.
With a "bang", the rain washing over her eyelashes turned brilliantly red.
Isabella James wanted to scoff one last time but before she could move her facial muscles, she plunged into endless darkness.
