Introduction
Karen Cox, reborn as her best friend Nora Brown, entered a jewelry design contest, never expecting her life to spiral into chaos. In an unthinkable twist, she lost her innocence to a stranger in a changing room. As if that wasn’t enough, she was forced to sign a marriage agreement with the powerful Alvin Roosevelt. Alvin, a scion of a noble family who could bring New York to its knees with a mere stamp of his foot, was cold, domineering, and ruthless. Yet, to Nora, he was a man who cherished her above all else. He handed her his family’s treasured heirloom, elevating her status and making her feel like she was walking on clouds. To bear his child, Nora risked her life. But her sacrifice was met with a cruel divorce agreement and his icy words: “My woman is back. You can leave now.” Was she nothing more than a mission to him? Three years later, at her wedding, a shadow from her past reappears. Alvin pulls her into the darkness, his touch possessive and his breath hot against her skin. Trembling, she hears him whisper, “Remember? It was just like this the first time you gave yourself to me… and only I am worthy of you.”

"Mm!" Alvin Roosevelt suddenly reached out from the darkness, covering her mouth, while another quickly shut the door, pulling her into the shadows!

Nora Brown never imagined that stepping into this half-open room—just to change into a dress for her upcoming performance—would lead to such a terrifying situation!

She reacted quickly, elbowing backward, but to her shock, Alvin seemed to anticipate her every move. In an instant, he caught her arms, immobilizing her.

"Who let you in here?" His icy voice echoed in her ears, sending a jolt of fear through her heart. In the pitch-black room, she couldn’t see his face, but she could tell he was tall, muscular, and dangerously strong.

Her heart pounded as fear gripped her.

"I... I saw the door was open, and there was no one..." Nora stammered, sweating profusely. She wanted to scream, but his hand tightened around her throat. She was certain that if she cried out for help, he would crush her neck without hesitation.

Today, Roosevelt Jewelry Corporation was hosting the "Moonlight in Roosevelt's Era: I Am Your Perfect Match" competition. Winning the championship meant becoming "Miss Roosevelt," the spokesperson for the corporation, dining with the CEO, Alvin and receiving half a million dollars. Many women were attracted by the prestige of the title and the allure of the CEO, but Nora desperately needed that prize money to care for the grandmother of the girl whose body she now inhabited—and to pay off her mother’s debts.

Indeed, her name was Nora now, but in reality, she was Karen Cox, a captain in the National Police Force and a member of the elite G Special Action Unit. She had died heroically two years ago while saving a high-value target.

She never expected to be reborn in the body of her best friend, Nora...

"Damn it!" Alvin cursed under his breath, suddenly tilting her face and forcefully kissing her lips.

To his surprise, Nora tasted even sweeter than he had imagined—better than his favorite dessert, Mango Crepe Cake. He couldn’t resist delving deeper into her taste.

"Let..." Nora was stunned, struggling with all her strength, but his domineering kiss muffled her words. Her hands and legs were pinned against the wall, and with a rip, the sound of her dress tearing filled the room.

"Stop..." she gasped, her heart blazing with anger. She hadn’t expected him to be so ruthless, nor had she anticipated how skilled he was in combat. In her previous life, she had been a captain of the National Police Force! How infuriating!

The more she fought, the more he seemed to enjoy dominating her.

He hadn’t expected Nora to barge into his private space. Her looks were attractive enough, but they weren't what he was after tonight. Still, she might help resolve a pressing issue. Judging by her attire, she must have been attending the "Moonlight in Roosevelt's Era" event.

Was she here for the spokesperson title? The prize money? Or was she after him? He chuckled darkly.

With a hard push, Alvin threw Nora against his body, the heat radiating from his muscular frame overwhelming her senses. At the same time, his hands were already reaching for her torn dress.

Panic surged through Nora. There was no time for words. Summoning all her strength, she clenched her fist and swung at his head. But he dodged her attack effortlessly, catching her wrist in a vice-like grip.

"It’s useless. If you don’t want to suffer, you might as well enjoy it," he growled, his cold voice chilling her to the bone.
