"Husband, have we really been reported?" A gentle but worried voice sounded.

"Although the leader did not make it clear today, that's exactly what it means...If we are demoted, it's not a big deal for us, but what about Little Moon?" Another voice rang.

"But with the current chaos, what if Luna happens to be targeted by bad guys?"

Luna Smith stood by the door, the intermittent conversations from outside making her frown.

She had just woken up to find herself having traversed through time.

Now, the date was May 1975.

The body she inhabited was also named Luna, 22 years old, whose parents were researchers at the First Military District’s weapons research institute.

The body's original parents had originally studied in the U.S.A, but returned home under the protection of the Dragon Country's military personnel twenty years ago, to serve their homeland.

After returning to the homeland, the original body's family enjoyed a decent treatment.

Her father, Mitchell Smith, was the core member of the weapons research institute, earning a monthly salary of 322 dollars; her mother, Blue Iris Martinez, was an associate professor, earning a monthly salary of 240 dollars.

In an era when the average monthly salary of workers was in the tens, their family income was considerable.

The original body's elder brother had also joined the military and was now a company commander, earning a monthly salary of 80 dollars.

Their family's material conditions were absolutely top-notch in this era.

This was evident from the original body's bedroom itself.

The room was not large, even a bit simple, but decorated warmly and comfortably.

A bed, an old-fashioned wardrobe, a desk, every piece of furniture revealed the owner's meticulous nature.

The wardrobe had double doors, embedded with a large mirror in the middle, polished as bright as new.

On the desk, a white floral tablecloth was laid out, scattered with a few pieces of paper and a plaster statue of David.

She wore a lace-edged small floral nightgown, a style worn by wealthy girls of the '70s and '80s.

Luna sighed, “I can't believe I ended up here instead of being killed by bandits.”

Before time-traveling, she was hosting a personal art exhibition, and suddenly, a group of masked robbers stormed in.

These memories still vividly surfaced in her mind and thinking back now, it felt somewhat surreal, as if it was all a dream she had.

"As for Little Moon's matter, let's wait until Sol comes back to discuss it, let's first take care of these things." Mitchell said.

"But where is a good place to hide all these things?" Blue Iris asked, worry evident in her voice.

The voices outside the door brought Luna's thoughts back to reality.

Well, let's just ignore if this is a dream or not.

Just live in the present.

Thinking so, she opened the door.

"We went through a lot of effort to obtain these materials, and I'll do my best to keep them in the research institute." Mitchell said with a thoughtful look.

"If they could have kept them, they would have…" Blue Iris said.

Walking out of the room, Luna spotted a middle-aged woman sitting at the dining table, she was probably in her forties or fifties.

She had a slim body, and her face was old, but still had its charm. Her eyes were full of sorrow.

Beside her sat a man. He was middle-aged and prosperous, tall — at least 1.8 meters. His facial features were deep, yet not exaggerated, a unique kind of handsomeness characteristic of people from the Dragon Kingdom.

He carried an air of scholarly grace, and his crow's feet added a touch of charm.

Luna surmised that he must have been a heartthrob in his youth.

Seeing their daughter awake, her parents anxiously asked, "Are you feeling better now?"

Luna replied, "Mom, dad, I'm feeling much better."

Pressing her head gently, Mitchell sighed and said, "Don't overthink it, Little Moon. If it really becomes unbearable, we should sever our ties publicly in the newspaper. You won't have to be re-educated in the countryside with us."

The background of the Smith family was complicated.

Though they led a decent life, it was quite conspicuous during these tumultuous times.

The escalating political struggle caused a ripple effect that reached their doorstep due to an informant's tip.

Were it not for the camp leader's desire to protect the Smith couple, they would have been dispatched to the countryside long ago.

However, in these increasingly tense times, even the leader felt helpless, leaving them no choice but to start preparing in advance.

The Smith couple had decided earlier that they could stand a bit of hardship in the countryside, but they had to ensure the children were safe.

Their eldest son, Sol Smith, who was twenty-six, never stayed with them.

Thanks to the Smith couple's work contributions, he received considerable care in the military camp. Plus, he had earned merits during his service. Although it had been less than two years since he retired from the military, these troubles hadn't yet come knocking at his door.

What worried the Smith couple was their younger daughter.

They thought that if it indeed came to sending her to the countryside, they would disown her through a public announcement in the newspaper. They simply couldn't bear to watch her endure such suffering.

Their daughter had always been their little princess, endowed with exceptional talent. She was a renowned young artist in the United States, who had held exhibitions and made newspaper headlines!

With her sensitive soul and stunning looks, if she had to move to the countryside, she might attract unwanted attention from the wrong sort of people.

How could they protect her then?

They were determined not to let their younger daughter be dispatched to the countryside.

The original host had overheard her parents' plan and was so terrified of being sent away, she passed out.

When she woke up again, it was Luna Smith’s consciousness living inside her body – a genius artist from the 21st century.

Through the original host’s memories, Luna sorted out what had happened and organized her thoughts.

It was currently the year 1975, and the chaos was soon to end.

Since the order to relocate to the countryside had not yet arrived, this was her time to prepare and leave the rest to fate.

Even if she couldn't escape the dispatch to the countryside, she might possibly make use of her parents' connections to be sent somewhere where they knew people, at least to have some reserve.

Luna shook her head, "I won't cut ties with you!"
