Amelia looked outside the bus window and realized there was no way she could reach the café on time to meet her friends. There was only one problem that came with a beautiful city and that was traffic. Her bus had been getting stuck in traffic for the past half an hour and all this while she had gotten numerous calls from both Scarlet and Cora. She knew exactly why they were calling her and she did not want to get scolded by them for being late so she picked neither of their calls.

After contemplating for a few more minutes, she finally decided to walk. She would definitely reach her destination faster if she walked than waiting for the bus to move. So, she hopped down the bus and started walking along the sidewalk. Just as she was passing by one of the cars the door suddenly opened and hit her on the calf of her legs. She was already late and now this, if she was not angry before she was clearly angry now.

Just as she turned her head to give the person who hit her a piece of her mind, she got a little startled. The car door was open but she could not see anybody. Just as she was about to start looking around, she felt someone tug the bottom of her dress. When she looked down, she saw the most adorable baby she had ever seen. He was looking at her with his big hazel eyes which looked so adorable on him along with his unkempt blond hair. She had already forgotten why she had turned; all her anger had already vanished.

The child looked at her with a little fear and said with a little stammer ‘I am sorry auntie.’

Amelia got down on her knees to talk with the child and asked ‘Hey kid, why are you sorry?’

Listening to Amelia’s sweet voice the child got relatively relaxed and said ‘I hit you. With the door. Sorry.’

Listening to his sweet voice and broken sentences Amelia giggled and said ‘It’s Ok kid. I did not get hurt so don’t worry.’ To which she received a toothy grin from the child. She wanted to pull the boy’s chubby cheeks but doing that to someone else’s child would be wrong. Amelia suddenly realized that the kid was alone in the car and she got worried and asked ‘Kid are you alone?’

The kid looked around and then pointed at a man who was coming their way with some drink in his hand. He looked like the driver of the car. When he reached near the car Amelia asked the boy ‘Are you with this uncle?’ The boy nodded his head in a yes. Now she was angry. How could the driver be so irresponsible to leave the child alone in the car in such a busy street? What if something would have happened to the child? What if he had opened the door and walked around here and there alone and then got lost? Even the thought of such an adorable child getting separated from his parents gave her the chills.

As the driver reached them, she looked at him sternly and asked ‘Where do you think you are going around leaving such a little kid alone in the car? Don’t you have any sense of responsibility? What if something would have happened to the kid while he was alone in the car?’

The driver was visibly confused, he could not understand why he was being scolded in the middle of the sidewalk by a woman he had never met before. So, he finally asked ‘Miss do I know you?’

That is when she realized that she might have gone a little overboard and might have overstepped her boundaries. She said much more politely, ‘No sir you don’t but when I saw the kid alone, I got a little worried. He is in your care so you must be a little bit more careful.’

The driver looked at her and then at the boy then asked in a panicked voice, ‘Did little master leave the car alone? I had no idea he knew how to do that.’ He then further explained ‘Actually little masters had finished his water so I went to get some water for him. I had no idea he would get out of the car within such a short time.’

So, the driver was not at fault completely either. ‘I am sorry to have talked so rudely with you.’ The driver immediately waved his hand and said ‘No need to say sorry miss, you said all that only because you were worried about him.’

She was just about to reply when her phone started to ring again and that’s when she remembered why she started to walk on the sidewalk in the first place. Her friends were waiting, by now probably just to show her the door to heaven. ‘Oh shoot! I have to run. Please make sure he doesn’t get out of the car alone ever again.’

Just as she was about to walk, she felt a tug at the bottom of her dress yet again. ‘Bye, bye auntie.’ the little munchkin said while waving his chubby hands.

Looking at him waving at her she felt her heart almost melt.

‘Bye, bye sweetheart.’ She waved at him and then picked up her pace.
