"Bill, when are you finally going to dump that woman?"
Summer had just arrived at the bedroom door and could faintly see the intertwined figures on the bed.
One of them was her soon-to-be-fiancé, and the girl was her best friend!
"Norma, we've been together for six years. Do we really need to rush this?"
Summer was yet to regain her composure from the huge shock when she overheard a surprising conversation:
"You're getting married soon, can I not be anxious? You haven't ... haven't forgotten your promise to me, have you?"
"How could I? Wasn't it agreed upon with your father? As soon as Summer's father is jailed, we can stop sneaking around!"
Summer was stunned.
Her father, a director of the Golden Way Group, had just been jailed for a tax evasion case a few days ago.
Could it be that they were the ones who secretly plotted this?
Summer quickly replayed all the events from the past ten years in her mind.
She had been genuinely devoted to Bill Twaddle, and had confided in Norma Snerd...

After being thrown into a box, she had been placed in the back of a car, but after regaining consciousness, she could clearly overhear the kidnappers' conversation.

The man surrounded by others stood in the shadows, his face could not be seen.
Nevertheless, merely glimpsing his tall and exceptional figure was sufficient for his nobility and strength to be felt!

Summer was frantically trying to speak against the mouth gag while she was still inside the shipping container.
The moment she was rescued from the container, people in the vicinity swiftly surrounded her.
A man stepped towards her and nonchalantly lifted her face.
Frightened, Summer instinctively avoided the man's hand.
"How impertinent! The boss has saved you, and yet you're ungrateful! Someone, secure this woman for me."
"Shut up."
A dangerous aura spread through the air, escalating as the man slowly approached.
Bathed in the pure moonlight, she finally got a clear look at the man.
His captivating eyes were so dark they were practically suffocating!
With the man taking a step forward with his long legs, she retreated as much as she could.
Her back came up against a tire, leaving her with nowhere else to go.
She shivered, her face being lifted once more by the man's slender fingers.
His fingers were cold— bone-chillingly so!
"Hmm..."
The duct tape on her mouth was ripped off by the man, and she instinctively moaned in pain.
The man stared at her without blinking, his fingertips slowly traversing her eye corner, applying pressure.
She intended to dodge, but her body could no longer support her, her head dipped and she lurched forward, collapsing towards the man.
